Mr. Pollard joined Discovery Health in 1994 as Head of Research and Development with responsibility for the design and development of the Discovery Health product range, a position he maintained until 2007. Prior to joining Discovery, Mr. Pollard was employed by Liberty Life as an Assistant Actuary in the Product Development area. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in London and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa. Mr. Pollard graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Actuarial Science.

Mr. Swartzberg joined Discovery Health at its inception in 1992. As one of the company's pioneers, he was instrumental in establishing the company's marketing division, as well as driving the evolution of Discovery Health's risk management and operational areas. Prior to joining Discovery, Mr. Swartzberg was at Liberty Life where he worked as a manager of product development (Individual Business) and as an actuary for product development (Group Business). He developed several products that are currently brokered by Liberty Life. Mr. Swartzberg graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Actuarial Science and Mathematical Statistics. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries (Edinburgh), and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (Chicago).

Mr. Dolan joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1988 in the over-the-counter consumer products division. He became president of the company and a member of its Board of Directors in January 2000, and served as Chairman of the Board until 2005. During his tenure as CEO, he led the repositioning and revitalization of the company's pharmaceuticals business, launching eight new drugs in the past five years and creating a top-notch pharmaceutical pipeline. The company's other healthcare businesses grew significantly in both revenue and profit on his watch. Mr. Dolan is a trustee of Tufts University, where he Chairs the Administration and Finance Committee and serves on the Executive, Audit and Compensation Committees. He is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He is currently also a member of the Board of Directors of CASA at Columbia University and a member of the Business Council. He served on the boards of the American Express Company, C-Change (a cancer coalition organization) and was Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Mr. Dolan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University and a Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Mr. Farber joined Discovery as the Group Executive Chief Financial Officer, and serves as a member of the Group Executive Committee. He is responsible for the global finances of the Group. In addition to his roles at Discovery, Mr. Farber serves on the GAAP monitoring panel of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Richard Farber graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) degree in Financial Accounting. He is both a Chartered Accountant (registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants) and Management Accountant registered with the Chartered Instituted of Management Accountants.

Throughout his career, Mr. Epstein has been a pioneer in the legal specialty known as healthcare law. For over 35 years, he has played a unique role in the establishment of the concept that healthcare organizations require a dedicated form of legal representation. During this time, he was instrumental in the acceptance of managed care as the most prominent form of healthcare delivery. Mr. Epstein has often been referred to as the "father of the healthcare industry" as stated in Chambers USA and was selected as a member of the Greater Washington Legal Elite by Washington Smart CEO. Mr. Epstein established Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. in 1973. The firm has grown to approximately 400 lawyers in ten cities and is generally recognized as one of the leading law firms in healthcare law with over 130 attorneys dedicated to this specialty. Mr. Epstein provides a wide range of healthcare organizations and providers with strategic legal guidance responding to the legal challenges and opportunities of the rapidly changing American healthcare system. In this connection, he currently sits on the Boards of a number of healthcare companies and venture capital firms. Mr. Epstein graduated from Tufts University in 1965, where he earned the Donald A. Cowdery Memorial Award for leadership and was the editor-in-chief of the Tufts Weekly and the Columbia Law School. Following graduation from Columbia, Mr. Epstein joined the Wall Street law firm of Barrett Knapp Smith & Shapiro. He has served as a legal consultant to the Health Maintenance Organization Service, Health Services and Mental Health Administration, and U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare.

Prior to his tenure at Pepsico, Dr. Yach headed global health at the Rockefeller Foundation, was a professor of Public Health, led the Division of Global Health at Yale University, and is a former Executive Director of the World Health Organization (WHO). He spearheaded efforts to improve global health, and, while at the WHO, served as cabinet director under Director-General Gro Harlem Brundtland. Dr. Yach helped place tobacco control, nutrition and chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease prominently on the agenda of governments, non-governmental organizations and the private sector. He directed the development of WHO's first treaty, the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, and the development of Global Strategy on Diet and Physical Activity. Dr. Yach, a South African national, established the Centre for Epidemiological Research at the South African Medical Research Council which focused on quantifying inequalities and the impact of urbanization on health. He has authored or co-authored over 200 articles covering the breadth of global health issues.

     SENATOR WILLIAM H. FRIST, MD

As the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate, Sen. Frist focused on domestic health reform, the basic science of heart transplantation, global health policy, healthcare disparities, information technology, medical mission work in Sudan, genocide in Darfur, the health of the mountain gorilla and HIV/AIDS. Sen. Frist is the 2007-2008 Frederick H. Schultz Professor of International Economic Policy at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He annually leads medical mission trips to Africa. The Senator co-chairs the ONE Campaign's presidential initiative: ONE Vote '08 and Save the Children's Survive to Five Campaign. His current board service includes Africare, the U.S. Holocaust Museum's Committee on Conscience, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project and Hope through Healing Hands. Sen. Frist majored in health policy at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs before graduating from Harvard Medical School and completing a surgical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and a heart transplantation fellowship at Stanford. After completing his fellowship, he became a faculty member at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he began a heart and lung transplantation program. He also became staff surgeon at the Nashville Veterans Administration Hospital. In 1989, he founded the Vanderbilt Transplant Center, where he performed over 150 heart and lung transplants, authored more than 100 peer-reviewed medical articles, over 400 newspaper articles and five books on topics such as bioterrorism and transplantation.
